IEEE PELS Pittsburgh Chapter Hosts Distinguished Lecturer Professor Paolo Mattavelli

 

IEEE Power Electronics Society (PELS) Distinguished Lecturer Prof. Paolo Mattavelli of the Unversity of Padova, Italy, gave the lecture “Dynamic Interactions and Stability Issues in Electronic Power Distribution Systems,” held on 6 October 2017. The talk was sponsored by the IEEE PELS Pittsburgh Chapter and presented at the Swanson School of Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The IEEE PELS Pittsburgh Chapter has been vibrant with activity under the leadership of Chair Dr. Brandon Grainger (Digital Object Identifier 10.1109/MPEL.2017.2783959 Date of publication: 23 February 2018 Grainger.) The Chapter, which holds an average of ten seminars per year, has held talks from professors, graduate students, locally based electric power manufacturers, and Distinguished Lecturers including Dr. Dragan Maksimovic, Dr. Patrick Wheeler, and Dr. Qing-Chang Zhong. Formed in 2014, the Chapter has won the IEEE PELS Best Chapter Award as well as regional awards for efforts put forth by its leadership team.
